Hi there! I’m Emily, and I get it.

Parenting is tough. I know because I’ve been there too—overwhelmed, tired, and constantly wondering if I was doing it “right.” I’m the co-owner of Solstice Counselling, and I’m here to help guide you through the wild ride of parenthood, especially when it feels like everything is out of your control.
I’m a Certified Canadian Counsellor, a Baby-Led Sleep and Wellbeing Specialist, and I hold a Master of Counselling from the University of Lethbridge. But most importantly, I’m a mom who understands the emotional rollercoaster of raising a little one.
When I first became a mom, I thought I had to follow all the “rules” to get things right. I read every book, followed all "experts" on social media, and yet, nothing seemed to work for my spirited baby. We were both exhausted, frustrated, and in tears. It was only when I stopped listening to the noise around me and started trusting myself that things began to shift. I realized I knew my baby better than anyone else. That’s when everything clicked.
Fast-forward a few years and babies later and now I’m passionate about helping parents like you feel confident, connected, and supported—especially when the days feel long and the nights feel endless. I want to help you get the rest you deserve so you can lean into the season parenthood feeling strong, calm, and in tune with your little one.

My therapeutic approach is rooted in cognitive behavioural therapy, internal family systems, acceptance and commitment therapy and client centred relational approaches. I strive to create a safe, supportive, non-judgemental space. I truly believe everyone is doing the best they can with what they have and my goal is to meet my clients where they are at and work together to create goals and find solutions.
If you’re struggling with the challenges of parenthood, overwhelmed by advice, or just need someone who gets it, I’m here to help you navigate through the chaos. You don’t have to do this alone.
Let’s work together to help you and your little one find balance, peace, and a little bit of serenity.
Hi there, I'm. Brittney
I have always had an interest for performance and wellness, and I strive to help my clients optimize both these aspects of their life. I am a Registered Psychologist in
Alberta, but also hold specialized certification and training in the areas of Sport Psychology as a Certified Mental Performance Consultant, and sleep as a Baby-led
Sleep and Wellbeing Specialist.
My therapeutic approach combines creating a safe, comfortable environment with a
positive, growth-mindset attitude where the client is ultimately the expert in their own
journey. I believe one of my greatest strengths is my ability to relate to my clients. As a former professional athlete myself, I know the importance of the mental side to
performance and have experienced many of the challenges that I see in the athletes that I work with. Being an athlete is hard, and whether it's pressure coming from outside
sources such as a coach, parent, or team, or the pressure we put on ourselves to be the best we can, both can be difficult to manage. I have strategies to help you prepare for competitions, overcome a mental block or fear, gain confidence, or just enhance your thinking to help optimize your performance. My goal is to help my clients break through their barriers, achieve their goals and reach their full potential as an athlete and performer.
As a mother, one of my biggest challenges going into motherhood was sleep. Before I began my parenting journey I was the type of person that prioritized
sleep as I knew I functioned much better when I got my 8 hours a night. As I became a mother, sleep obviously changed for me and I struggled with stressing
over how I could get more sleep. With all the research showing how detrimental a lack of sleep is for your health and functioning, I felt so much pressure to try and
do whatever necessary to get myself and my baby more sleep. On top of that, the constant questioning on whether my baby was a “good baby” based on how well they sleep at night just didn’t sit right with me. After learning about what is considered “normal” sleep for a baby vs what society considers normal, I feel drawn to support others to feel better about how their baby is sleeping, and/or
make changes to things that aren’t working when it comes to sleep.
